“Don’t have the messiah complex,” he said. That hit deep!
I was having a conversation with one of my spiritual oversight and it literally took me back to the foundation of faith. I had spoken to him how that I have so much on my plate having to take care of family and others around me and how that it felt my life was on a pause and he responded with that.
What really is the Messiah complex?
Just like the word implies, Messiah — Savior. It’s basically you trying to be the savior. Having to carry the burdens of everyone; that mentality of “if I’m not here, how will everyone manage?”. You know how impossible it is to carry the weight of those around you. Now, it’s wasn’t out of really wanting to “save” for me but rather out of care and concern.
I had forgotten we’ve only one Messiah and that is Jesus. Anyone else who tries taking that position would never really be enough..
The bitter truth is, you cannot be there for everyone. You’d become overwhelmed and frustrated if care isn’t taken.
Rather than wanting to do everything for your loved ones, why not hand it over to Jesus? He knows best and cares for them and you a million times more than you ever can. There’s no better way to help a person than in the place of prayers.
Here is one of the burdens Christ asked you to hand over for rest.
Today is a reminder to let go and let God.
It’s a new week.
I declare it blessed, productive and protected.
Have a beautiful one.
Let go and let God...hmm Oh God help me on this 🙇🏾♀️
